I downloaded The Word and installed it on Ubuntu using my registered version of Crossover.
It was ultra simple. It installed like any other windows app and worked correctly the first time.
This was on my laptop which runs only on linux.
I have since discovered that on my dual boot desktop computer, The Word works with both OS's and shares the data. I installed The Word in its own folder on Drive C of windows using the compact installation. I then installed all the modules that I wanted to use. When I boot up in Xandros linux, I can simply navigate to the windows folder and run the program "as is" using Crossover. No further installation or tweaking was necessary.
I used to do the same with Esword but since they went to Version 9, Esword no longer works with linux. At least I have not figured it out yet.
