I am looking forward to upgrading. before I do I want to make sure it won't affect my user notes etc.... (they will still be there) Have there been any issues with this?

None, no worries at all.
I would personally worry about my hard disk much more, so, make a copy of your personal files folder anyway. The upgrade will not mess with that, but hard disks do fail...
(my own disk died 3 times in the last year: it dies in a night completely: i didn't rescue 1 byte... only a piece of metal)

I have the older version 3 running on my Mac. Is there a direct method to upgrade this to the new version 4? Or should I download the standard .exe file and open with Wine Bottler?

Hm, interesting, i have not really tried that to be honest. You can get the .7z file from the beta sections and just extract the files to your /Library folder of course, but then you will miss the new files that come with v4. The best would be to run the upgrade package using wine but i ave not tried it yet. I think it would work though if you use the wine_prefix it has created for theWord

Hi Costas,

Version 4 fails to unlock my Bible modules..

unlock codes are correct.. checked with:

http://www.theword.net/index.php?purcha ... &l=english

Re installed Windows 7 pro
installed Version 4 Using Installation type: Compact (Single folder) USB flash drive mode option.
copied my modules in their respective folders [NASB to Bibles folder etc.]
Version 4 is in single folder on desktop.

Thanks in advance for any info,
Carlos.

There are still updates pending for the site. Read what's new here.
Will be looking into making some tutorials and site adjustments to make theWord easier for new-comers.

Enjoy!
Costas

Carlos,
for the NASB: don't just copy the .ontx module, re-install the whole .exe package: use the link you got from the activation email,

Howdy Costas;

Ya still din't fix the bookmark menu. See post # 80 in Getting Help. I use a simple layout with the Bible on the left and all book modules to the right of the Bible. This gives me a nice large Bible view. I like to keep the -bookmarks- on the Right side of the Bible window, between that and the book modules. Now... if I maximize any window, Bible/notes... etc, the bookmarks panel jumps all the way over to the right side of the entire TW window pane and when I minimize the window it stays there and I have to move it back between the Bible window and the books window with the mouse. Shouldn't it return where it was automatically?

Can you fix this or should I dispatch my swat team...
