Tools to test and play with regular expressions online:

http://strfriend.com/
http://txt2re.com/

This is intended to be used for searching TW resources.

The first one is particularly interesting, very useful for anyone starting on regexes. A better name could be Regular Expressions Disentangler...

Thanks. I recommend the text editor EditPad also. Its website also has great regex learning resources.

Is the first link (strfriend) no longer valid? I'm not seeing what it has to do with regex.

A downloadable program to work with offline is The Regex Coach. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/regexcoach.html

Don't know if this thread is live but it caught my interest. You might try

Online: Or download Expresso (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/expresso.html)

If it caught your interest, it's still live. :D I think it will still be relevant until Regex dies, or until we all become experts at it, whichever comes first. Until then, it is helpful to know what tools are available. Thanks!
