I have just worked in theWord for the last day, and have already made so many tweaks that I've lost track. Is there a way to save ALL system preferences in a file, that can be backed up, so that if I ever have to load tW preferences, I can do it easily and quickly? I even backup my settings on my PDF reader, so you know I can be a bit finicky when it comes to things like this....

Take a look at the personal files location shown on the Help->About -> file locations. I expect you backup these locations often as a matter of routine, I do.

Just to note: all preferences are stored in the file config.ini
All content of yours in the .twm files there

I'm trying to find a way to copy my preferences and layouts from one computer to another. Both computers have TheWord installed, but I want to have the same layout options available on both computers. Any way to do that? thanks

Your layouts are saved in the file my.lyts.twm.
You need to copy/sync this file,
