Post My makeshift Apocrypha bible module
JG, is the chapters and verses (the numbers thereof) hard-coded in TheWord?

The reason I ask, if they could be user adjusted, it would be possible at least to rename books (I suppose) and at least the chapters and verses would line up.
If it is hardcoded, I understand why it would be a nightmare to change.

Anyway, I made my own Apocrypha (this one is Latin) with 10 books because I am developing an Apocrypha Latin dictionary and wanted 'hover over' that a bible module affords easier than a book module.

As all can see, I made an index of sorts to navigate to the different books.
I took a Vulgate bible module and put the Apocrypha, starting at Matthew and running the length necessary and then padded the leftover with the rest of the Vulgate text.

Anyway, here is a pic:

I went a step further and made a list of books to include...there doesn't appear to be complete consensus on what should constitute the Apocrypha.
I also decided to make an Apocrypha module from the World English Bible (WEB).
Here's the list I used:
1 Esdras
2 Esdras
Tobit
Judith
1 Maccabees
2 Maccabees
3 Maccabees
4 Maccabees
Prayer of Manasseh
Wisdom
Sirach
Baruch

I used a text editor and made a navigating module with 6189 hyperlinked verses, that is every verse.

Concerning the WEB translation of the Apocrypha, I just noticed that for example, you will notice in the 2 Esdras 7:36 verse in the screenshot above that is reads "furnace of shall".

It should be furnace of Gehenna (or hell).

It only shows up in a footnote.

I used a format that I knew how to work with.
There are different formats available.
There was even a so-called sql format that my sql editors refused to open because they say it isn't a sql.

I haven't checked yet how many such footnotes appear throughout the text.

Somebody versed in dealing with some of those formats may be able to make a clean text.

It's not a too bad however, I already have the KJV, English Revised version and of course the Douay of the Apocrypha.
But to my knowledge, the *KJV and the Douay do not have the Esdras books...slight correction...Douay has it but it is in the 1610 version...which no one would want to read because of the archaic english.

Edit:
I checked how that particular footnote (†) is used in the text.
It appears to be used mostly for alternate word renderings from different manuscripts.
I believe they probably made a mistake not to include the word in the text on that one occasion.
So I believe the text is good the way it is and only will report back if I find out otherwise.

*2nd Edit: I misstated, actually I have been using the KJV Esdras texts.
Sometimes its hard to remember which editions have which books.

My latest was to make an ERV(1895) Apocrypha, this time I kept the footnotes and made a custom index navigating book to go along with it.

One thing I need to check for is broken reference tags in the bible module in a search in TheWord, how to I do that?
I tried putting in <RF> and it didn't find the one I manually found.

Edit: fixed the &ampc. as well as a few double spacings.

It is not possible to search for tags as they are stripped before the search.

In what way will the <RF> tags be broken? Do you mean they could lack a closing <Rf>

Yes, if it doesn't have a matching <Rf> , it will be visible while viewing the module.
I couldn't get the search to find the <RF> even though I was looking at it in a certain chapter.

I just need to make sure there are no visible <RF> or <Rf> tags or if there is and double check the reference if necessary.

I think maybe this ERV module set is good enough, I could put this set up for others here to download, they are not big files, I could even zip them?
If not, I can edit this question.

I still would like to make checks for errors for a little while.
Hey nobody may not want it anyway, who knows?

If you would like to zip the Bible module and upload here or send me a PM with a link to it, I will try a private utility I wrote to look for these issues.

Here they are, just got them created last night so not sure what problems they may have.

Edit: a revision to fix the &c. as well as other minor corrections.

I did not find any broken <RF> tags.
The only thing I noticed was some html tags in the <RF> notes, that need attention. &c

I noticed that too, in the html version is has &c.

I wasn't sure if it was a reference or maybe some kind of rtf/html code.
So I left it as it was.
I think there are 30 of them in text.

I can fix that or you can if you want to.
If others download perhaps there may be other minor errors that need attention.
Then I can fix them all together.
Perhaps that is the way...to see if others even download it.
