Popup Dictionary Oddity

Post by Doctordavet »

Hi, Costas,

Not sure if this is a bug, or user error (what? me?). As I've been working on that post for "Greek Exegetical Layouts" (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4068), I've noticed that the Strong's popup doesn't always work correctly.

The two Bible windows are set with two different Greek popups for Strong's numbers. View 1 is set to popup over a Greek number with BTSK+; while view 2 is set to popup with Mickelson. However, sometimes after I've been in Bible view 2's Mickelson popups, Bible view 1 will also show the Mickelson, and not the BTSK+, in the popup.

When I open View 1 options, the correct settings are shown, but I have to actually click "apply" to reapply them.

At this point, it's happened to me 2 or 3 times this week. So it isn't consistent. Not even sure what is consistent for making it happen, because it certainly doesn't happen all the time.

At this point, it's just for a point of reference, perhaps, that something may not be right in a setting.

Of course, it is probably user error! But just in case, I did want to report it.

Follow up -- it may be somehow connected to "show no link, just show in a popup..." setting. When both windows utilize that setting, the problem arises.

Hi Dave.
Perhaps this is related to the focus, I mean, when you select the second bible view and then move the mouse over a word in the first view it keeps focusing the second view, (I hope to be clear enough, my english is not to good :) ).

Godbless,
Manuel.

Hi, Manuel,

Your English was great!

Focus does not matter; but I did check. When it works correctly, the popups work right no matter what view is in focus. When they aren't working, they don't work correctly even when the focus is on the window with the incorrect popup.

Costas,

I can confirm it does happen when both bible windows have Strong's set to "show no link, just show in a popup...."

It is a bug. Please try build 1321, it should be fixed there,
