Printing Bug [NOT BUG. FONT ISSUE]

Post by jonathangkoehn »

When I print one of the sermons I'm preparing in a book view the spaces/tabs get changed slightly not sure which or both.
It happens in version 4.0.0.1367 and earlier betas, not sure if it has always happened. It happened even before
the richview 14 was implemented.

For example:
donde Juan estaba bautizando.
ὅπου ἦν ὁ Ἰωάννης βαπτίζων.
ADV V-IXI-3S T-NSM N-NSM V-PAP-NSM
sumergiendo
The third line looks like it is shifted when printing.

Sorry I can't really show the affect here.
Note I use different size fonts and settings for the different lines such as
Line 1: 11 size, normal, Palatino Linotype Font, Spanish characters
Line 2: 11 size, normal, Palatino Linotype Font, Greek characters
Line 3: 8 size, italics, Palatino Linotype Font, English characters,
Line 4: 8 size, italics, Palatino Linotype Font Spanish characters

It isn't a big bug but it is hard when you are lining up columns of words to make your own interlinear study Bible for messages
and then they come out differently
I really enjoy theWord, and use it all the time for ministry.
In Christ, Jonathan

The lining up on line 1 is not so important in this instance.

White background is printing view.
Brown paper background is book view.

Here are the two different views you will notice in the white back ground which is the print view that some text is not lined up.

ην should have V-IXI-3S lined up under it like the book view
ὀ should have T-NSM lined up under it like the book view
Ίωάννησ should have N-NSM lined up under it like the book view
βαπτίζων should have V-PAP-NSM and sumergiendo lined up under it like the book view

I'm not sure if it is the different font size that is causing it or the different type of characters such as greek versus the spanish & english

Thank you so much for checking this out.

A user module I created from within theWord.
One I prepare my messages in.

Since the modules does not use fixed-width font, the alignment depends highly on the size of the fonts.
So, in the print preview you should be able to change the font size (from the slider at the top) before printing to make sure it looks correct. This is not really a bug, it is just how non-fixed-width fonts look.

It's not really a bug at all; if you you fixed-width fonts (like Consolas or Courier), then you will not have this problem. Every char will be vertically in the same place always
