Is there a way to turn off the part of speech link within the TR text? It is somewhat distracting.

No, when I click on the TR tab to view the Greek text, there is a blue part of speech link next to the words within the TR module. When I hover over it, it provides the RMAC information pertaining to the word. With Strongs, I can click on S and toggle the Strongs information. But with the part of speech link, I can find no way to prevent it from being displayed all the time.

Press M (for Morphology).
you may find helpful to click on the black arrow on the exact right of the gear icon on the vertical toolbar in the Bible view

Ah, so simple. I must have clicked on every other key but the M. Thanks.
