Old Church Slavic, Ethiopic, 1582 Bible Modules Completed !

Post by sttomasmore2 »

So I have made bible modules for ancient translations which have never been available to free bible software before (and perhaps for-pay software as well ) !
(Though the Old Church Slavic is actually based on the text used by klompje @ yandex . ru for his semi-free bible software (you have to e-mail him for the password)).

(I wrote that post on "Old Nubian" and other ancient translations a while back.)

I have completed an entire version of the Old Church Slavic Bible,
a book or less of the Ethiopic,
the New Testament and Genesis of the 1582 Catholic,
and Mark from the Old English :

Again, I still hope to complete at least one version of complete Bibles ( I am a Catholic, and a scholar, and so this means not only Deuterocanonical Books, but also extra-canonical books like 3 Macc and all those Ethiopic extras ). To the previous list I want to add a new discovery of mine :

Sogdian

together now with :
( Hebrew and Greek, already well-covered ) ( Latin Coptic Syriac Gothic ... covered fairly well thus far ) BUT Sogdian Armenian Georgian Albanian Nubian Ethiopic and whatever others ... not at all or hardly covered yet.

And my purpose being to point out the diffference between modern and ancient translations : how the ancient translations show evidence of being done by Good Catholics and then subsequently twisted by their respective Schismatics to support the doctrines which took them away from Catholicism. Like Jay P Green, I can see that all modern translations are fake, and say that the ancient translations are superior, but still not surpassing the Clementine Latin Vulgate of 1591 and the 1592 Catholic English translation, a position also kept by a minority of Protestants.

Some quick notes on the above linked-to works :

The Slavic Bible comes in many pieces, the 2nd part being the most important and containign most of the text. The others contain other parts that just didn't fit. Although I have made plans for accomodating all the canons of The Holy Catholic Church, the Oriental, Orthodox, and Protestant Churches, I don't think I was able to implement them so much in these works.

It took a fair amount of time and even more energy ( to keep myself focused : I study ALL languages ) to make the above. Most of the work was taking already typed texts and then making adjustments every chapter or so so that each verse would be in the right place. But with Ethiopic and Slavic, a secondary expenditure lay in the replacement of Unicode-field fonts with exact abcABC transliterations of my own unique invention.

Finally, for the same reasons that these modules have never been done before, it is likely that most will not take an interest in their having been made and or being incomplete as yet. But apparently a similar concept didn't dissuade God from action, when he realized that through lies and mistranslations, so many of recent centuries would prize so dearly as "Bibles" which are anything but and indeed the exact opposite, though hard to distinguish by the untrained eye. I do what I do for everyone, but it is especially those that seek the truth who will bear fruit a hundred-fold.
