Hello Brothers and Sisters!

I'm writing to inform that I'm working on correction of Polish Gdansk Bible (which is also available as theWord module). The text of this module and any other modules of similar software (even Bible Works 9) contain text with lots of modernized words and typos as well.

The work is carried out for one year. All of the books of Old and New Covenant are checked.

The above page is in Polish language only, but if it will be strongly requested I can also make English translation.

If Costas want it to become official module for theWord I can prepare it when correction is ready.

Anyway, after correction this text will go to public free of charge!

Piszę, aby poinformować o prowadzonej pracy nad korektą Biblii Gdańskiej (która też jest dostępna jako moduł dla porgramu theWord). Tekst tegoż modułu jak i innych w podobnych programach (w tym też w Bible Works 9) zawiera wiele uwspółcześnionych wyrazów oraz literówek.

Praca trwa już rok. Wszystkie księgi Nowego jak i Starego Przymierza zostały sprawdzone.

Postępy w pracach można śledzić na stronie: bibliahtml.poznaj-prawde.com.

Po ukończonej korekcie tekst zostanie udostępniony bez opłat.

OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT

+ all books has been compared to printed edition form year 1970 and in some cases from years 1632, 1660 and 1840
+ all x-refs from printed edition (1970) has been rewritten to compared books
- all found differences awaits till all books have been compared in order to decide which changes to apply (there are many words written differently because Polish language was not unified at that time)
- all x-refs awaits check of correctness

Progress update:

Overall progress ~70%.

15 books (+ 1/2 of Psalms) of Old Testament are still to be checked.

More than 10.000 x-refs are added from printed edition. After accuracy check they will be also added in later version of theWord bible module.

Progress is about 90%. Later I will update more detail information in first post.

All books have been checked with printed editions!

Currently, the text is updated on the basis of the differences found.

There's almost 3.000 marked places which must be decided whether to apply change or not. This is because seventeenth century Polish is inconsistent grammatically and the same words are written in different ways. Spelling must be standardized for easy text search, and overall aesthetics, but without bringing any new vocabulary (which is not in the original print).

This task will take some time but first release is coming.

I will post new info as soon the text is ready.
