I downloaded the latest version of theWord two days ago. This was downloaded from theWord web site.
When I click on the exe, I get the usual "Openfile - Security warning" screen.
I then click OK on this screen, another screen flashes for a split second, and nothing further happens, so I assume that the exe will not run.
I am running Win XP.
I have tried running it under "Run as" Adminstrator (my own profile is an administrator profile), and I have also disabled my antivirus, but it still does the same.
Has anyone any suggestions?

Re: Loading latest version
Download the file again. It could be corrupt/not complete.
I just tried the update package install on XP, and it went fine.

Re: Loading latest version
OK. This is becoming a bit of an exercise in frustration.
I am currently on V400 of theWOrd.
I have downloaded both the binary update (6.5Mb) and the full package (49.9Mb) neither of which will open.
Is there an MD5 that I can use to verify the downloads?

AV = antivirus
I would like to know your AV so I can install and test.

I've been out of things for a while.
I am using the latest freeware version of AVG. It is 2015.0.6081.

Stuart,
I have tried an update on Vista as I deleted my XP I had. The download of theWord update package ran without issue.
I don't know how else I can help you.

Re: Loading latest version
Thanks for your input. My version of XP has been running now for at least seven years without interruption, apart from upgrades.
It could be anything that is causing this.
I actually need to upgrade to 7, but have one or two items of freeware on the machine that have limited licences which I will lose if I upgrade, so I will have to work around that.
I'll keep trying in the mean time.
Regards, Stuart
