Portable theWord

I want to make theWord portable and contained under one folder (with subfolders).
It keeps using AppData\Roaming\The Word folder.
How do I change theWord to look only in the executable folder?

Use the installer and select 'Compact' and 'UFD'

I have to do a fresh install, or can I change the configuration?
I presume there's a configuration setting somewhere to change the location of the root folder, and where to look for the files.

Just create a file with the name 'compact' in the same folder as theword.exe
Also check the option in File->Preferences->When running in compact mode....

Check the Help->About->File locations to see each time the folders theWord uses.

Not good to do this if theword.exe is in either of the Program Files folder is it?

Jon is correct. If it is in there, just re-install someplace else.
