Copy & Paste using Mac

How does one copy verses, comments etc in theWord (using th latest version and the latest version XQuartz ) running on a MacBook Pro (OS x 10.8.5) .

When I "Copy" any thing in theWord using Cmd-C and try and "Paste" into MS Word nothing happens. I note that the Word Paste option is greyed out.

I think I have read of this previously, but can't find it in the Forum.

Can anyone help, as I don't want to have to retype manually into Work.

I think I have worked it out, buy using Ctrl + Alt + C (not a normal Mac command !!) to copy from "theWord" and then Cmd+v to paste into MS Word.

If anyone has another solution I would be interested in hearing it.

the MAC section is more specialized for this type of question (and i remember this has been discussed).
