Book View search box text color change

I have two book views and the color of the text in the search box for one is black while the other is light blue. The light blue is difficult for me to read at times and I would like to change it to black. Is there a way to do this?

It is strange that on start-up it is black, but then goes light blue if you click in that box and then click in the topics list.

Yes! I didn't realize that was what it was doing, but I see that what you say is correct. I checked it in the second book view window and see that it does the same.
