Post converting a module
I have already tried to convert one of the modules I want in PDF form, using Database2RTF.exe. The output, however, was mostly gibberish, and was not even close to the size of the original file.

NOW LET ME ADMIT I HAD NOT OPENED THE Database2RTF INSTRUCTIONS.

I DO SEE HOW IT CAN CONVERT THE MODULE, BUT I ONLY NEED TO CONVERT ONE VOLUME, THE FIRST ONE.

I can copy + paste each of the elements in the module (BI), but that would take quite a while. I have every other volume of the Biblical Illustrator in a PDF form, which is public domain, as far as I know. But to get this first volume now requires joining some group or other, which I do not want to do. I have not checked every website there is, but so far, no site offers a free/non-registration type download.

Is there a way to do this more easily than cutting + pasting FOR THE ONE VOLUME?

Thanks for your time, if you get the time to reply.

Bob

Just curious. Why go to all this trouble when you can go here (http://www.wordmodules.com/index.php?ap ... mMainBar=1) and download it for free?

Darrel,

Thanks for your suggestion. I don't know why, but when I clicked the link I got a blank page allowing me to institute another search.

As for the apparent link, I imagine you were suggesting I download the module for the Biblical Illustrator. I already have that installed for theWord, but I also have downloaded a set of the BI PDFs previously from archive.org. However, the first PDF, for Genesis, is corrupted or incomplete, and I cannot find a copy of that PDF elsewhere--so far.

My only option, as far as I can tell, is to open each chapter and convert it to text and then to PDF, and then combine the 50 PDF chapters. I'm just trying to avoid all that work, because I'm sure somewhere there's a PDF of Genesis for free.

Jon,

Thanks MUCH for the hard work. Would you mind sharing how you did that? I might find it handy in the future.

Sorry to be so late in replying to your post. I just saw it, after being away from theWord site for about a week.

I copied the Genesis topics to a new commentary(just selected all the needed topics in the tree and dnd to the new commentary).
In module properties make sure to convert all topics to rtf.
Close theWord.
Opened the module in SqliteExpert and exported the content to a csv file.
Opened the file in a text editor EditPad Pro.
Made sure the csv file did not have a bom.
Removed all rtf headers except the first one, and the tail rtf }";
Saved file with .rtf extension
Opened in wordpad for a quick look to see that we got all the data, and that it did not drop something due to a stray } then saved it, otherwise Word objects to it.
Open in Word. Ctrl A, Ctrl+Shift+F9 to clear hyperlinks
Ctrl+A, Ctrl+U, Ctrl+U. to remove underlines.
Marked by hand some of the headings and subheading to Heading1 and Heading2 style
Used Replace to mark as Headings1 the verse reference that were (Tahoma and point size 12) and replaced with style Heading1... no actual word search used just the format and style.
Checked Word navigation where the Headings will display for any heading that looked like it should not be there.
Saved file as pdf
