Consistent Error Even on New Computer Install - SQlite3_open

Post by reachtim »

Every time I open Word I get three of the same error "The procedure entry point sqlite3_open_v2 could not be located in the dynamic link library sqlite3.dll. I saw another post on this years ago that was never fully resolved. I am on Window7 and just re-installed on a brand new computer and still get this error. It took a few days after initial installation to return. Error screenshot attached.

Hello reachtim and welcome.
This is just an incompatible version of the sqlite3.dll.
Where did you get the version of theWord you use from?

I got it from the theword.net - just a few days ago - I did use the Windows 7 easy transfer wizard from my old computer to my new one which brought over my settings and topic notes automatically to my local application settings but I would think the file you are saying is old would not be involved in that process because wouldn't that be apart of the program files folder?

I re-read your initial post and I need to re-ask:
do you get this error when you start theWord, or MS Word?
You are saying 'word' at your initial post,

Please, search your system (your hard drive) for other instances of the sqlite3.dll file and temporarily rename/remove them. Try to see if you get the same error,

I noticed that my cloud based back-up software - mimedia and Apple also appear to leverage this file. Will renaming this cause my back-up software and/or Apple products to stop working?

Rename it just for 1 minute to see if it works and rename it back.

I am at a loss here...
Pls, try to download theWord again and make a compact+UFD installation in another folder (e.g. c:\theWordTemp) This will be completely different. Try to run theWord from there and tell me if it works. If it does, pls copy the sqlite3.dll from this folder to the folder of the normal install,

Question 1
Is a different version of SQLite already loaded in memory before you start theWord?
If so, disable the auto start of this program and reboot, then try theWord.

Question 2
Open a Command (DOS) window and type 'path'
Does SQLite.dll exist in one of the locations listed?

I would like to revisit this issue here and see if anyone else has this problem or can consistently recreated it. I got an email from another user with the same issue and i think it's very important to try and fix this.
