Book search misses results

Post by musings »

Hello,

I'm trying to locate all references to a specific bible chapter (John 10) in Thompson's Chain Reference dictionary.

My search options are set to "exact phrase" and "ignore case and diacritics" and I'm searching in subjects and topics.

If I search for _joh 10_ (without the underscores), I get 14 matches. If I search for _john 10_ I get no matches. There is an article, 'Shepherd, Christ as' which includes the following lines:
Sacrificial
Joh 10:11
(3) God's People are his Sheep
Ps 74:1; Ps 79:13; Matt 10:16; Matt 15:24; Matt 25:33; Matt 26:31; John 10:3

How do I search the module to obtain the results I'm after?

Thanks, Gary

Thanks for noting this issue.
I have sent Costas an email reminder on this.

The module contains both regular verse reference hyperlinks like this,

Text: Ps 23:1
Target: tw://bible.*?id=19.23.1

and others that don't have a Target: text; Instead they use internally [vref]. [vref] takes the data 19.23.1 and renders the default book abbreviation for it Ps. So this is where the issue lies. The search index has not accounted for this? (or it might be that the indexing cannot account for this)

We will have to wait for Costas, to comment.

Thank you Jon and Costas for both excellent software and responsiveness to user issues.
