New modules

Post by Neokoros »

There is two modules for two Textus Receptus French bibles on this page from E-Sword (http://my-e-sword.blogspot.ca/search/label/French), just wondering if anyone can convert them so they can work on The Word which is a way better Bible software. Both bibles are from my site (http://levigilant.com/) and there is no copyright on them, they are free to use for everyone. There is also a lot of stuff on my site that some of you might be usefull like a French Dictionnary of the Bible (http://levigilant.com/documents/diction ... _bible.htm), the 2008 revision of the French Ostervald Bible (http://levigilant.com/ostervald_revisio ... index.html), Thje Two Babylones in French (http://levigilant.com/les_deux_babylone ... hislop.pdf), John Fox book of martyrs in french (http://levigilant.com/livre_martyres/li ... tyres.html) and much much more ++++

Hello Jean,
this sounds very interesting, especially given the limited material currently in existence in French.
Usually it takes the initiative of someone that speaks the language (e.g. French) to help towards creating content. Do you think you could help out? Would you know how to do that?

Although I dont have any problems in translating documents from English to French, I cannot say the same for my capacity to create modules. If I could help beleive me I would and you would have more French modules than in any other languages, unfortunetly this is not the case. This is why I posted in my message «if anyone can...»

Well, there are tools to do that, believe me it is not that difficult.
Anyone cares to help out?

We have a new module for the French Bible Machaira, it is available for download here: http://levigilant.com/Word_Module/bm.ont. Apparently we need an identification number for the module, how does that work? I would also like to know how we can put a hyperlink <a href="#section_1"> inside the module. Thank you.

Hi Jean,
i checked the module and it looks good!
Would you like to give me some more information about it, especially concerning the copyright? Also some info about the translation?

I see several sections like that:

Code: Select all

<a href="#section_1" name="section_7-3"><b>Section 7</b></a>
What are these for? Headings? Why not use the <TS> tag?

There is no copyright on the Machaira Bible, I am the author. I have been working on this text for over 30 years. It is an extensive revision of a 1885 Ostervald Bible (Textus Receptus based) that contains a lot of new translations. You can see it on my site if you wish: http://levigilant.com/bible_machaira/index.html. As for the Module it was made by a friend because I know nothing on how to do one, so I cannot answer your question. There will be two different modules following soon, one for the French Ostervald Bible 2008, a revision of the 1996 edition, and a module for the Martin Bible that contains the originals italics in the text.

So, you are the copyright owner to the revisions, so you should give the permission for any redistribution.
Is it possible to get in touch with the person that did the module to ask about these details?

You have my permission and you can contact my friend who made the module at the following address: [email protected] but try to be short and precise, he is French and doesn't understand English very well, but he manages somehow.
