Can I use my old config.ini and English.lng files w updates?

Post by ErikJon »

Hi, guys.
I have been downloading the beta version of TW lately, and using it with my old config.ini and english.lng files, only because I had made several modifications to both, over the years, and was afraid that I might lose those settings with new versions of both. (For example, all of my references are intentionally set to print in Spanish, even when using English Bible texts, since I do my reading in English but my reserach papers in Spanish.) I just want to know if there is any risk of losing any important configuration information this way, that would affect the program functionality in the beta releases.

config.ini is ok to keep. (Always keep a recent backup copy for when it gets messed up by a beta build)
The english.lng You would need to compare the latest and beta files to see the differences and add/delete as needed.

"Compare the latest and beta files to see the differences and add/delete as needed?" Does that mean by using one of those file-comparison utilities that opens two windows and highlights the differences, one by one? If so, is there one in particular that is especially easy to use, that you recommend?
