Paste as HTML support from theWord
Been using the theWord for a long time and love it. Do all my sermons, lessens, articles, and whatnot using it's bible and books. My 2nd most important tool is the mind mapping tool: freeMind (1.1.0 beta 2 from 2016) which supports HTML formatted text. I use it to develop outlines visually and then ...

Re: Scripture Indexing tool beta available
I haven't run the tool in many years and I doubt my current system even has a runnable copy but I still do use the results almost every day doing research and preparing lessons and sermons. I had also written an ePub importer but it needed to be expanded with every different epub I imported. I remem...

Re: Scripture Indexing tool beta available
Sorry about the dead link. The file expired and I don't have a web site to host it on. I use the generated output of this tool every day but since not many new book modules have come out that interest me I haven't run it in a couple years. Health, children and ministry have kept me away from working...

Re: Scripture Indexing tool beta available
Hi Peter; Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, you must rebuild from scratch every time. Because it's a 2-step tool you must do step 2 each time though I could code such that step 1 is only done for changed sections but I didn't do that. It would take a long time to write and I'm always swamped these ...

Re: Khmer text and the Beta's
Well, both issues I listed here seem to be fixed in the 1308 beta. Fantastic Job! I also noticed that not only is the text selection working properly in the bible-viewer with my Khmer bible but also in the comparison view! I never expected that to work. Thank you for all your hard work on this progr...

Re: Khmer text and the Beta's
The font and size are specified in all my Khmer modules and Bibles. I did try changing them both and restarting but I get the same result. In 1240 a font change works as expected. No need to restart. In 1258 I see the same problem no mater what combination of font and size I use, even with restartin...

Re: Khmer text and the Beta's
Thanks for looking into this. I'm running Windows 7 ultimate 64bit. (64bit is often a problem?) In the gif file below the top image is 1240 and the bottom is 1258. The font is "Khmer OS Content" which is a standard font for Khmer since Microsoft's font has some problems. It can be fond in:...

Khmer text and the Beta's
My Khmer Dictionary works great with my Khmer bibles as of 1240. (and perhaps before, I've only run that and 1258.) Wow! THANKS!!!! This makes my life as a missionary so much easier. Have2 issues though. 1st: the 2 lists used with the dictionary. in 1240 they display well. in 1258 they are no longer...

"best practice" for handling extra Bible verses?
I'm creating a new bible module and for reasons beyond my grasp the local bible has renumbered the verses. Isaiah 64; Obadiah 1; 2 Corinthians 13 are all missing a verse. (Easy to fix, just make the last verse "...") Unfortunately they also have added verses: Mark 9:51; 3 John 1:15; Revela...

Re: Some Puritans W/ Scripture Index
Sorry about Ussher... I tend to rename things so I can find them. (Last, first, content) I also tend to combine into one file many works by the same author. Helps me to eliminate duplicates and reduces the number of files I have to prepare for indexing. The Ussher I packaged was "Prepared for dis...

Re: Some Puritans W/ Scripture Index
Copyright status is listed on archive.com as not in copyright for the ones from there. ccel is, hopefully ok. The harmony of the Westminster standards is something I did. Other documents, especially those copied from web sites over the years, are unknown but publicly available... The indexing tool i...

Some Puritans W/ Scripture Index
I've assembled a few hundred thousand pages of Puritans. Most are from archive.com as ePubs (auto-converted by a script I wrote) and are in fair to poor shape. (they were scanned and OCR'd by Google or MSN or someone else but not hand corrected) They are mostly readable and sll have had their (often...

Re: Importing HTML into Dictionary
I recently did something like this for data in a convoluted quasi xml / html format. I found the easiest, and perhaps only way was to write a script to read, parse and insert the records into sqlite directly. I used TCL but perl or another scripting language that supports sqlite would also work. Pro...

Dictionary Search List box font
I recently converted a dictionary in a foreign language (Khmer) to work in theWord and am very happy with theWord's handling of my data. I was able to set the font to be the needed one and even set the size. (Khmer writes letters above and below the main letter making large fonts necessary to read i...
