Re: New Forum Design

A couple observations: 1. It is difficult to see which forum has unread posts/topics - the line width of the "bullet" is very narrow and even though it is a different color it doesn't really stand out. If the Topic color changed for unread posts to match the "bullet" it would be ...

Re: Bible Search View Persistent Column Width

110 dpi, running in WINE on Linux. 96 dpi makes the menu text, etc. too small to read comfortably. That is also true for other Windows programs. If I make the window bigger, the columns get wider, smaller and they get narrower. The minimum width for the Bible/Book column seems to be 1 or 2 character...

Bible Search View Persistent Column Width

The default width of the Bible/Book column in Bible Search View is too narrow - it truncates the verse reference as in the screenshot. I can adjust the width by dragging the divider over and be able to see the complete reference. Is it possible to make the adjusted column width persistent? It's a pa...

1528 Formatting Toolbar

Not sure what changed in 1528, the changelog on the website and in the 7z archive only goes up through 1527. Here's the issue: up through 1527 the Formatting Toolbar dynamically changes according to the properties of the view clicked in. Click in a view with a module flagged as "User module&quo...

Re: A hope that probably won't happen

A lightweight linux install + WINE + TW in a virtual machine that has no network access would do it. The clipboard monitor in TW might not work but everything else should.

Re: Add Titles not working for theWord repository

I concur with Darrel and Jeff. openSUSE, WINE 6.13, TW 1522. Inability to connect to the official repo is the only issue I've had with TW on this version of WINE. Since all the other repos work, it seems like the issue is with how TW is trying to connect to the official one. Since it has worked in p...

theword-6.0.0.1520.7z

fwiw, the 1520 beta file is truncated, shows as 992k. Maybe it doesn't matter since 1521 has been posted.

Re: Version #

I posted some further information last night but it seems to have disappeared. Oh well, gotta love technology! Here it is again. It is related to the dpi setting. 96 dpi everything appears in its usual place 100 dpi the version info is moved down a line and partially obscured by the OK button 105 dp...

Re: Version #

Time out, Jon. This is the "Getting help" section of the forum. I asked a question seeking help to understand what changed in the program so that its behavior was different. Apparently something did since up to v.1500 it behaves one way consistently and from v.1501 on it is different. I ca...

Re: Version #

I'm not "testing" the beta versions, I'm using the latest. And so I don't have to keep changing the filename in a shortcut or script file, I rename the beta to simply "theword.exe". As for whether it's a big deal or not, it probably isn't when one considers climate change and wor...

Re: Version #

How so? It didn't used to be a problem, it just stopped showing up recently. This is when it disappeared: 1501 - update copyright to display 2021 - several fixes for improving high-dpi monitors, specifically: book search view, bible search view, about dialog - removed donate item from About menu Scr...

Version #

Did the version # fall off the Help/About screen on purpose?

I see it still on the splash screen but it is inconvenient to have to restart the program just to verify the current version.
