Font problems with theword

Post by adonaisbridechurch »

Hello,

I have installed 'TheWord' Software sucessfuly using wine on Ubuntu 9.10. The program is working fine. But we wanted a Hindi and a Telugu bible. I've downloaded those modules and have installed the same using wine. Now I'm still able to run theword with wine but i'm not able to use the Telugu and the Hindi bibles as the only thing that is being displaid is just -- -- -- -- -- --.
I have installed both the fonts for Linux and for Theword through the wine but then I can only see boxes if I change the default language to either Telugu or Hindi.
Can someone help me with a work around please?

God Bless you,
Thank you So much.

Go to File->Preferences->Bible texts and select the proper fonts for these modules,

Xavier,

Are the needed fonts present in the Windows Font folder? That is located at .wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts from your home directory. I'm pretty sure if they are located there that TW can find them.

Oh yes my friend. I've installed 2 Telugu fonts and 4 Hindi fonts. but all I can see is either boxes or -- --. But the reference is displayed with the telugu font but not correctly.(That to when I changed the reference font to Telugu/Hindi manually).

Do this:
1. Download the font Code2000 from here: http://www.code2000.net/code2000_page.htm
2. Unzip the file CODE2000.TTF and put it in under your home folder: ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts
3. Start theWord, go to File->Preferences->Bible texts and select the Code2000 font for the Tel Bible (click on the Font column to select it).
That's it,

The Word is installed in Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.1 using Wine 1.6.2.

I purchased TWOT and installed that module also in The Word. The problem is that the side panel of the Book view for TWOT does not show the list in Hebrew. It just has squares where there should be Hebrew. Now, the main panel does show the Hebrew correctly, and the +IHOT Bible view also show the Hebrew text correctly.

Happy New Year!

I would try specifying a custom font in the module properties ->Settings/actions ->Fonts, Topics tree/list font:
Jon
the
Word 6 Bible Software
OS for testing; Windows 10
Beta Download ------Beta Setup Guide------On-line Manual------Tech doc's and Utilities------Copyright Factsheet
