Hi Everyone,
Working with theWord for quite some time now. I started to use the verse list more extensively.
I ran into a few things that I find difficult to deal with.
- Can I reorder my list by dragging? (like a shift+drag or something)
- Is it posible to auto reorder them on verse for a specific Translation or as a whole both.
- Can I switch on and off a translation in list view?
- Can I filter out a translation and put it in a diffrent list?
- Sometimes when I have an list open and switch to another list it doesnt ask me to save first.
While if you exit with an unsaved list it does ask to save first.
Am I overlooking something? And if not then take them as sugestions for future versions in case the Developer feels this has any value.
Thanks for your time and efforts in this great program that helped me study and understand Gods word better.
sol

Re: Verse List
There is some 'quirkiness' to the List view in the use/appearance of the right click menu. The mouse pointer has to be over a word and right click, then a full menu appears. This might answer some of your questions?

Re: Verse List
Hi,
Thank you for the pointers.
This solves for me the:
- general reorder + manual reorder (although a shift+mouse hold would be nice).
- switching / changing translations sort of, but I like to see a option to have a verse.
twice in the list (2 diffrent translations) and then be able to switch one of them on and off.
It does not solve:
- filtering out a translation and put it into another list.
- merge / split lists
- auto reorder (meaning if I put a verse in the list that is in the middle of the book and i have already verses in the list before and after the specific one I am adding now. That the one I am adding now lands exectly in original verse order.
- auto safe (or like the message you get when you quit the Word without saving a list) when switching between lists (sometimes I forget to safe and lose all my newly putted verses)
- able to make and name an empty list. This solves that you do not have to name them after you save verses but you can do it before hand.
I think I read somewhere on the forums that development is finished.
But perhaps some point in the future, I can only hope.
Thanks again for this grand piece of software, I use it daily.

Re: Verse List
I found a bug with the verse list today.
So when I open a specific verse list I made, and putting new verses in it.
Then I switch to another list (without saving, because you forget sometimes)
It askes to save the list.. but not as the one I opened but as a new list.
So now I have 2 lists of verses on a bible book.
And I cant get them to merge into one.
This is fustrating.
Thanks,
sol

Re: Verse List
Hello solarsoul,
let me try to answer some of the questions.

let me try to answer some of the questions.
No, nothing comes to mindfiltering out a translation and put it into another list.
There is a 'sort' option (right-click menu): but it is not automatic, you have to select it.auto reorder
This should be the case. If not it's a bug. If you can give me a specific use case i can repeat, i will look to fix it.auto save
Not there; minor to be honest, easy workaround to start with an 'irrelevant' verse until you get the first 'relevant' one and remove the irrelevant (placeholder) verse. Use Gen 1:1 as the 'placeholder' for example, you will know to replace it when the first relevant comes in place.able to make and name an empty list
It has certainly slowed down, mainly to bug fixes.I think I read somewhere on the forums that development is finished.
