Post your PREMIUM Module Requests here
.
Hi, friends.

I suppose that there is no use trying to defend our favorites, arguing about which dictionary is better and why one commentary should be available rather than another.

What we can do is to post our requests here, so that Mr. Costas Stergiou can see what is needed, and can focus what [little] time that he has available for premium modules, only on those requests. (At least, in theory.)

Unless someone already has a post clearly established on this subject, why don't we help Costas by keeping all our premium-module requests together, inside this one post?

GROUND RULES:

Do not post any request for a free module, but only for a PREMIUM module that you know to be under copyright, and that you would be willing to pay money for. This is especially if you have already seen it offered elsewhere, not only in printed format but in digital format.

Do not post any request for a module that you are not willing to pay a FAIR PRICE for. As you know, Costas' modules have been well priced until now. Please be reasonable in your estimation.

Do not post any request for a module that you are not willing to pay for immediately, once it becomes available for TheWord. This is not a "wish-list," but a list of "requests."

For informational purposes, you may also list titles that you have recently bought in another format, but that you WOULD HAVE PURCHASED for TheWord, had they been available at the time. This would also help Costas to see that the need is not merely theoretical, but real. (In fact, some of us would be willing to buy an additional copy of certain modules, only to have it accessible within TheWord.)

You may also list titles that you are certain to buy very soon in another format, but that you WOULD HAVE PURCHASED for TheWord, had they been available at the time.

Feel free to explain why you feel that your module is needed, compared to what is already available, as this will help Costas to justify whether to prepare and format a separate module. (For example, if you find the Erdman's Bible Dictionary to have a theological bias far too liberal for your needs, you should mention that point as justification for requesting a nice, conservative, academic-yet-up-to-date Bible dictionary-module for TheWord.)

Please include the full title, author, and other publication information, if possible, particularly if there is another work of the same author with a similar title. (e.g., "Wiersbe Bible Commentary 2 Vol Set" vs. "Wiersbe Bible Commentary NT") Please specify OT, NT, or both.

Please do not assume that any of these requests will necessarily be fulfilled someday, nor ask just when, as it all depends on the C.E.O.

Please try to highlight or underline the titles, and keep them separate from your explanatory remarks. This is so that Costas can quickly identify them without having to read all the other explanations. (See examples in the posts below)

Please include a separate, direct link to a full description of the title that you are requesting, anywhere online, if you can. Please make sure that the link takes us to the exact same title, and to something close, as the ISBN numbers will differ (e.g., Do not link to the NT-only commentary if what you need is the full-Bible edition of a given work.) (See examples below of titles vs. links)

While you may post a full title without any links, please do not post a link without the full title. I am sure that Costas would like to see at a glance the titles that users are requesting, without having to navigate to another website each time. Let's make it easier for him by including the title and author here in our post. In fact, you may wish to turn the full title into an active link at the same time (as Rubio Terra has done in his post below).

As you come across more information or better links regarding your requests, please do not create another new post regarding the same title, but rather click to edit your original post and update your listing there. This will help keep our list concise.

If someone has already listed the title that you wanted to list, please post an additional request for the same title, so that Costas will see that the demand is greater.

As new titles come to mind, do not add them to your older post; rather, post them separately. This is in case Costas chooses to copy and save the titles from each post as he goes, without re-reading the older ones, even if they are updated. We don't want him to miss any new titles.

(Feel free to suggest additional "ground rules" to be added to this list, if needed. I will update this first post accordingly.)

LET THE REQUESTS BEGIN!

I need lots of devotional application-oriented commentaries these days. When I look to eStudySource.com, I find only New Testament versions (with one exception) of publications that are in print elsewhere for the entire Bible!! Consequently, I need these:

Wiersbe Bible Commentary 2 Vol Set (OT+NT)

http://www.amazon.com/Wiersbe-Bible-Com ... 0781445418

This is, however, an abridged set already digitized. The complete 6-volume work would be even better:

http://www.christianbook.com/the-bible- ... vent=ESRCG

Jon Courson's Application Commentary, Complete Thru-the-Bible Set (All Three Volumes), by Jon Courson (OT+NT)

Listed as "option 2" on the author's website:
http://www.joncourson.com/store/comment ... taries.asp

NOTE: All three works named above (including digital versions of some) are currently on sale through June 1, 2016, at ChristianBook.com, as are 5,000 other titles:

I never used eSword up until last week. While I have plenty of homemade user modules of classic works, I have recently needed more contemporary materials in the way of Bible dictionaries and devotional commentaries. TheWord did not have much available, and the Erdman's Bible Dictionary seemed to have a bias too liberal for my needs.

Consequently, I went to eStudySource.com and bought and downloaded the following:

Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Dictionary for e-Sword

http://estudysource.com/platform/site/p ... ?pid=D0003

Life Application Study Bible Notes (OT+NT)

http://estudysource.com/platform/site/p ... ?pid=C0011

Thru the Bible, 5 Vols. by Dr. J. Vernon McGee

http://estudysource.com/platform/site/p ... ?pid=C0009

The Preachers Commentary 35 Vols. Lloyd J. Ogilvie, General Editor

http://estudysource.com/platform/site/p ... ?pid=C0003

Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Commentary (1994). Earl D. Radmacher, Ronald B. Allen, H. W. House, Editors

http://estudysource.com/platform/site/p ... ?pid=C0019

I never use QuickVerse either, but I have an ancient version of the program, and for that I bought an older 1994 version of:

Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Revised and Expanded, by: C. Brand, C. W. Draper, A. England

http://www.christianbook.com/holman-ill ... 0/pd/28364

Now I use QuickVerse ONLY to open that Bible Dictionary, wishing it would work on TheWord, instead.

ALL OF THESE I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THROUGH TheWord, had they been available in the correct format. (In fact, I still might buy additional copies, if they ever become available in that format.)

Hi @Costas:

Some users of the German section of this forum have been requesting the "Lutherbibel 1984" (Luther 1984 version), which is the equivalent of the King James Version of the Bible for German speaking countries. The same has been published in a modernized German language similar to what the publishers of the NKJV have done. They are requesting it as a paid module. One of this user has gone far enough as to contact the publishers themselves. In their response to him they state that it would be good for the developer of theWord to contact them directly for arrangements on granting the license to distribute their version on that platform. They show willingness in this regard. The last user posting in that thread (the one who has made the contact with the publisher) has offered to provide the address and name of the person directly in charge of licensing responsibilities. They are located in Stuttgart, Germany.

Here is their request: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2740

What is your response Costas in order for me to get back to them?

I am a Baptist, but I think we have a great scarcity of academic materials for TheWord, from a contemporary charismatic or pentecostal perspective. Regardless of one's point of view, because of recent trends I think that they are much needed for the sake of comparative studies. I will be buying the following titles sometime soon, but I hope that they will become available in TheWord format.

Foundations of Pentecostal Theology

It was at £25 Uk, but is now selling for £7.99 for Kindle download.
