I'd also like to see a version of the Christian Standard Bible available in theWord. It's not my go to Bible but I frequently use it for comparison purposes. I think there's a chance theWord might be able to offer it for free. Here's the publishing information.

Publisher: Holman Bible Publishers (aka B&H Publishing Group, Lifeway)

In the CSB: Requests for permission are to be directed to and approved in writing by Holman Bible Publishers, One LifeWay Plaza, Nashville, Tennessee 37234

On the B&H Publishing site they have a link to a Google doc which can be submitted online.
To request permission to use or republish other types of LifeWay's copyrighted material, please complete the Licensing and Permissions Requests form here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... A/viewform

The Christian Standard Bible is a modern English Bible translation of the Christian Bible. Work on the translation was completed in June 2016, with the first full edition released in March 2017.

Reading level: 7.0
Revision: 2020
Copyright: 2016
Abbreviation: CSB
Derived from: Holman Christian Standard Bible HCSB

Yes, HCSB is available as a free resource. https://www.theword.net/index.php?downl ... &l=english listed as "Holman Christian Standard Bible". Direct download: https://www.theword.net/bin/get.php/hcsb.ontx.exe

Or of course from within theWord Add Titles, theWord Repository.

I guess just the new-improved, super-duper-updated, easiest-to-read, most-accurate-ever, latest version may not be available. :D

Jeff, the CSB is significantly different than the HCSB, that's one of the reasons they changed the name. I believe it would be a worthwhile addition to theWord. The information they need to determine if they will give permission to theWord is fairly simple and straightforward. I've listed the details below.

Organization Information:
  • Email address
  • Organization name
  • Physical address of organization
  • Contact Person
  • Publishing Location
Questions
  • How is the material going to be used?
  • Will the material be given away of sold?
  • How many copies do you plan to distribute?
  • What is your geographic area of distribution?
  • Are you also requesting permission to translate material into another language?

I will draw Jonathan's attention to this post for comment. He might have obtained permission already.

We have permission to make the CSB WorldView Study Bible - I am seeing who can work on it or myself. Thanks for asking

That's great news, your efforts are appreciated. I think the CSB is a significant improvement over the HSCB.
