1 Year Chronological Reading Plan Help

Post by Doctordavet »

Greetings, Friends,

I have a question. I would like to use one of the Chronological reading plans for 2018. But instead of 365 readings, I would like for there to be 313 (that's 6 days a week, in case you're wondering).

Question: Is there a way to adjust the Chronological setting to 6 days a week and it still take only 1 year to complete?

Dave, simply make a new custom reading plan. Along the way you will come to the window that will allow you to specify what you need.

Hey, Jon,

Once at the custom reading dialogue box, where I can choose "I want to read:" - I don't see an option to make a chronological choice. I recognize I can choose "custom," but then I am required to enter a lot of data in order to create a custom chronological reading.

Any other options that I am not seeing?

Sorry Dave, I did not read your request properly. There is no setting for chronological. It seems that there can be many opinions as to what that would be. I looked at this site http://khornberg.github.io/bible-readin ... DuAFmADZ5A$
where I chose the 1 Year Chronological plan, chose to skip one day, and generated a plan. Copied to text editor, replaced comma with semi-colons. Trimmed off the date, and voila we have a six day plan data to copy and paste to theWord where it asks for Passages included. (seems we have to use ctrl+v to paste in) Also tick the Passages are the actual readings per session. Then on the next window you can select how often you want to read and be sure to only select 6 days.
Try it.

Thank you, Jon, I so appreciate your promptness and kindness. That did exactly what you said it would do.

However, after looking at the plan, I felt the readings were unbalanced. Some days I was reading only a chapter, and other days had me reading 7 or more chapters (like day one Gen 1-7).

TheWord software has me looking for "magic" with this option like it provides with so many other special features. I want to read up to chapter breaks (not stopping any particular reading in the midst of a chapter) with relatively balanced readings for 6 days a week and (almost) exactly one year.

Instead of attempting to create a completely custom rendition, I will adapt the included 1YrChronological reading with 365 readings. I will either read it 7 days a week or once a week I'll read two readings. Simple, right? :-)

Again, thank you so very much for your help and kindness.
