Incompatibility with Windows 10 Tablet Mode & Skinned Border

Post by engellion »

Hi.

Am running theWord (current official version 5.0.0.1450) under Windows 10 (Official version 10.0.10240 release) on a Surface Pro 3 tablet.

In Tablet Mode, any application that is in the foreground is maximised to full screen automatically. To close the application, involves swiping from the top edge of the touch screen and dragging the application in a downwards motion to the bottom of the screen. The application disappears from the screen and closes.

However, in theWord, when "Use skinned window border" is active, this method of closing theWord does not work. It does not respond to the downward swipe.

With "Use skinned window border" turned off, the Word behaves as expected.

Blessings,
Paul.

Paul,
it is true that this mode in theWord has several issues. I am tempted to remove it completely because I cannot really fix them.

Thanks Costas.

If it can't be fixed, I suggest that you go ahead and remove the skinned border feature completely for Windows 10 compatibility.

Or at least, not make it available if the program detects Windows 10 on first install.

Blessings,
Paul.

I will seriously consider, maybe for the next update.
