compatibility with W98SE and W2K lost with 1399+

Post by sojournervic »

OK, so W98 and Windows 2000 are ancient history ... but I still use them. Starting with 1399 theWord will no longer initialize. ERROR similar to as follows:

entry point not found
theWord.exe file is missing export USER32.DLL;MessageBoxTimeoutW.

additional information for W98SE; my setup is not original, using an addon called KernelEx with allows running certain software otherwise only compatible with NT. May have lost compatibility earlier, not sure.

Can you please check beta 1407 and let me know if compatibility is restored?

Costas, checked 1407 compatibility with both W2K and W98SE, it is restored (good magic). BTW, checked W98 with KernelEx extentions enabled and disabled, works fine (initializes) either way.

Nice work!
