BSBRevInt . text format - what's with all the dashes?

Post by kenfhill84083 »

The BSB Reverse Interlinear - with the interlinear and transliteration turned off -- is interspersed with a bunch of dashes (see image @ Mark 1.12-15). It shows the online version (https://bereanbible.com/bsb.pdf) and the TW version.

I scanned the book info in TW and cannot see any explanation.

Does anyone know the function of these dashes?

Greetings Kenfhil,
Please press i or r and you will see these dashes are like placeholders for Greek words.
I see there is no note on it hmms. But that is what they are for.

Thanks

So these are for original language word(s) that did not get translated into English?

Do you know if there is going to be a more readable BSB module with that stuff cleaned up? This would be very distracting-confusing if copied to a document.

At this point no. However, you can try to clean them out on your own. But more you will probably find they are required. Otherwise what are you going to click on? Meaning this is intentional not left overs.

If you want to try a simple verse rule
Go into the file and put '-' tab ''
If you want it tied to a toggle letter look at the verse rules for i and r to see how they work. Then you can build your own. This in effect will remove the dashes but then some items may not work right.

Thanks for the followup.

I would not dare tinker under the hood in TW. I can probably figure out a LibreOffice macro or search-replace on text copied from BSBRevINT.
