Would it be possible to adapt the "detect verse references" function to cater for Bibles which have a different versification to the KJV Bible?
Perhaps a versification file can be provided which tell the function which KJV verse numbers to link for a specific references in the non-KJV Bible. The detect function could then use the versification file provided for the active Bible. If no versification file is provided it can assume that the versification is the same as the KJV.
Update
Scanning my archives I discovered that I raised this matter previously, see https://forum.theword.net/viewtopic.php?p=23901#p23901.
Costas, have you given it any further thought?

Re: Detect verse references for Bibles with non-KJV versification
Hi Willem,
that would be almost impossible to do within theWord itself since it does not support alternate v11n schemes.
We do have several utilities that we use to map different v11n schemes, but in the end theWord itself will only understand the KJV one.
So a technical solution for this should be found outside theWord itself and within the module preparation code.
Let's take it privately.
