Transfer to new computer? **UPDATE**

I am getting a new computer soon; can I just transfer all the files; or do I need to re-download the Bible and ALL the mods? Some versions are payed for; how do I deal with those?

It depends on if you have a compact/USB install which keeps all the files together or a Normal install.

If compact/USB then you can just copy them to the New PC.

If normal I would recommend installing new and then copying you books, layouts etc. You can find file locations in Help > File Locations

Thanks for responding; I did normal, so what about Bible mods I paid for, How so I get them on my new computer without re-paying?

You should have emails with the Unlock data you need.

In my case, it was complicated because I had purchased a number of modules over a span of several years, and in that time, TPTB made some changes. I had to contact them directly, and they were kind enough to personally email me the info I needed. Do that only as a last resort.

Purchases before 2017 are at theWord.net > Help > Unlock
After are at theWordBooks.com > My Account> Downloads

thanks for all your help, it worked nicely..... mostly; I downloaded, and installed TheWord: then I found it in 3 locations on my HD. I copied it all to my new computer, and it worked. All my setting, looks, and everything was there. I did not have to do much.... except...............................................................>>

None of my "subject-notes", nor "my verse notes", not my colored scriptures copied, nor did any of my verse lists! I have to start from scratch.... oh well, study of the Bible is fun anyway

Your study notes, should be in a book how they were originally labeled, this can vary since as a user you can change that. If your old computer is still up and running then you can go into theWord > Help > About > File Locations

Thanks for that; unfortunately my old computer stopped working shortly after I transferred the files. I also forgot to mention, the payed Bible mods was very easy... when I first opened TW a popup let me know there was a payed mod, and asked from what email I used; I typed in the email and it worked, no fuss.
