For the multi-monitor users here (probably most of us nowadays), it would be nice if the saved layout views work correctly with multi-monitors and floating windows. They do not. For example, I must constantly rearrange my floating windows to specific monitors every time I restart the app (they all start on the primary monitor).
I'm considering this a bug, but perhaps it's a feature request. I have no idea!
Please implement. Thank you!

I am not sure how we can test for this.
Perhaps it has to do with monitors not being the same size?
Can we have some feedback if you are using 2 or more monitors and Layouts with floating windows.

Re: Save View Layout doesn't retain Monitor Positions
I use 3 27" monitors 32 Gb ram, 2 Tb of storage, and am now running Win 11 pro. I bring TW up on my middle monitor, a web browser on the left monitor, and I like to float a book view on the right. In the past i opened a 2nd instance of TW linked to the 1st instance and that worked fairly well, but my preference is floating one or more views IF I can save and restore that layout. Resources, for me is not an issue. Usability is my main issue. Does that help?

Maybe we need some test cases with saved and restored layouts.
Tw on monitor 1 and a floating view on monitor 2. Save and restore layout. Does it restore the layout correctly
Tw on monitor 2 and a floating view on monitor 1. Save and restore layout. Does it restore the layout correctly
I have an issue with one of these setups. tW does not restore to the correct monitor.

Oh, I have a 3 monitor setup right now. 3 1080p monitors at 100% scale on Windows 11,
Microsoft Windows
Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2428)
Further, I'm also using DisplayFusion, but that shouldn't affect anything.
Thank you

Re: Save View Layout doesn't retain Monitor Positions
I didn’t think that was even supposed to be a feature. I never bothered because I thought I’m just too dumb to understand them. So you’re saying that it’s suppose to help keep monitor layout?

Any updates on this? I'd love to see it as a future implementation. If you need help in testing this in any manner, I'm more than willing.

I hope I'm not muddying the water. I run Win 11 Pro with three 27" monitors. I have TW docked in the middle monitor, and 3 floating windows on the third monitor. I open and close TW and it maintains my layout precisely. I use the floating windows for my Bible reading, and also the bible tree linked back to TW on the 2nd monitor. Works beautifully!

Re: Save View Layout doesn't retain Monitor Positions
When testing with another that lost some monitor position it seemed linked to using OneDrive but not pausing it. Is there any software interupting the configuration file save?

Re: Save View Layout doesn't retain Monitor Positions
I use DisplayFusion personally, but this shouldn't effect any config files for TheWord.
