The color for the main editor window shows as whatever color 1 is currently set as for the active title bar. The color for the other pane windows is whatever the color 1 is currently set as for the inactive title bar.

I noticed that when clicking on the <str> and <morph> buttons in the book editor that the tags are displayed as </str><str> and </morph><morph>. Is that intentional?

Select a Word and they will work as intended. A future update will have this added. (some like changing the background take a lot of time to adjust.)

I don't know that a fix is needed once the procedure is understood. It's just a matter of adjusting the order of entry: enter the data first and then the tag.

The background of the "Show Info" window is still set to the background of the active title bar color 1.

TtW 3.2.3

*Add ",greek" to the ref_lng setting under the [lng] category in the config.ini file.
*Open TtW and type 2Μακ. 1:1 in the book editor.
*Do Detect References All.

The "ακ 1:1" in the 2Μακ 1:1 reference will be recognized as being Mark 1:1. How do I get TtW to not detect this as a valid canonical reference instead of trying to associate it with Mark (other than by changing the book name)?

Note Advanced topic not needed for all:
If you go into theWord-lng folder there you will find english.lng just after SPECIAL SECTION END you will see the portion that is used in Verse Detection.

Near the bottom of this section there is a group like this:
1.Maccabees|99
2.Maccabees|99
3.Maccabees|99
4.Macc|99

More than likely in greek.lng you will need to do something like this will help TTW to know that this is not Mark but a later reference. This should get you started on some ideas.
1Μακ|99
2Μακ|99
3Μακ|99
4Μακ|99

I don't really understand why, but the solution seems to be to just put 'Μακκαβαιων|99' (*WITHOUT* the book number in front) in the language file. This keeps an abbreviation like '2Μακ.' from being detected as 'Mark'.

A few questions:

1) How many members of the team are actively creating resources for TheWord?
2) How long does it take to import a word module already in some type of digital format? Example text @ 500 pages.

I see there are probably only ~100-200 total modules available across all languages.

I've compared this software to Logos and Accordance (the leading software packages for Bible study), and neither of them has the basic functionality that I enjoy with TheWord (Especially compare mode and note to verse linking).

Logos, for instance, claims ownership of your module COMMENTS and deletes anything that is unfavorable to their business practices, and limits FEATURES behind a tiered monetary paywall that goes into the thousands of dollars. Accordance has a terrible UI and lacking in the same features I want. The only allure to either of these apps is their massive libraries (hundreds of thousands of resources), but again, they're so poorly developed that I don't want to touch either of them.

I'd personally love to see TheWord get more support and expand it's userbase. You all have made something really wonderful here. I think it would be great to have a larger staff working on adding more resources regularly, but then this wonderful app wouldn't be free anymore. I'm debating getting into doing this myself but there's a lot I'd need to learn. Thanks

Greetings Apolcalypse612,
I would recommend checking out this video to see more about how official resources are developed.

TotheWord has made it extremely easy to create simple books and commentaries once you figure out the basics of how the tags work. Of course, TotheWord is also extremely complex and powerful when trying to import data from .html, .docx, or .rtf sources. Personally, I like to create the data as HTML files and then import those into TotheWord. The data can be manipulated much easier that way and doing things like regex is much quicker when doing it on import rather than trying to do it on large files that have already been loaded. Some basic programming expertise can be helpful for complex situations, but even creating short studies or whatever from scratch or from a word processing document is so easy. But you can start with the very simple basics and learn additional features as you advance. As I told Jonathan, TotheWord must be the best kept secret in the Bible software industry! Premium modules would need a staff, but there are still so many public domain works that could be imported by anyone willing to do the data entry/OCRing and to dig in and learn.
