Would it be too much effort or would there be side effects for the clipboard monitor to recognize e-sword Bible references?
e-sword shows references with a "_" character separating the book and chapter (eg, 1Pe_1:12). Clipboard Monitor does not recognize this format.
If I want to use CM's power using e-sword references I have to copy the text that includes Bible refs, paste it into a text editor like Notepad++, search for "_" and replace with a space. Then CM works perfectly.
It has only recently become an issue since I installed the esword-exclusive Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasury (a souped-up Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.) Otherwise I seldom use e-sword since TW is vastly superior in every way.
Is there a configuration file to which I can add e-sword ref format so CM won't choke - hopefully something that does not get overwritten with each new TW update?
PS . I already have and use TSKe in TW so I don't need any recommendations to use that.

Have to wait for Jonathan's thoughts on this one.

Ken I have put an item on our to-do list to look in to this enhancement sometime. In the meantime you will have to use your workaround or you could use a Autohotkey script I have which would save you some copy paste copy sequence to replace the _ with a space

Thanks for the effort and response. I would love to see your AHK script.

Re: suggestion : TW clipboard monitor : recognize e-sword Bible references
Beautiful! Now I can use clipboard manager in e-sword. Big step forward for me. Thanks a bunch.
I had asked for an e-sword workaround in their forum and only got an "answer" that e-sword refs must be formatted that way in order for Bible references popup. Seems like a clunky ecosystem.
BTW . In the AHK file, I had to comment out the last line of code : 'clipboard := "" ; Empty the clipboard' .
It seemed to mess up the clipboard functionality after using once.
theWord : great program ; great support.

Great that is works for you.
We will have a fix in theWord itself, but the release is a way off due to upgrading all the code to Delphi 12 which will be a great improvement code wise, apparently.
Been years since I have done any AHK scripts so I was not 100% sure it would work without issue. I still get the occasional time that I have to press Windows key + C more than once.
