News! theWord7 Beta in Official and Sneak-Peek - theWordLabs is now available in Repositories
If you go into
theWord > Add Titles > Upper right corner you will find Repositories > click this and you will find more repositories

We would like to point out one repository in specific “theWord Labs” note everything found here is Work-in-progress so the content is very subject to change.

For those that like to “test”, note there can still be bugs this is testing only. We have theWord Sneak-Peek version (consider this an alpha version).

If you don’t have that time then this testing version is not for you. If you do you will find many interesting possible future features.

Tired of waiting to search all your books due to indexing building. Guess what theWord 7 now aims to build your indexes in the background. Yes it takes time and if you do a search all right off on the upgrade you will be informed to wait on the books indexing still but other wise it is fast and very nice to have your books pre-indexed before most searches. (AND you don't have to wait for it, you can do most other things in theWord while it indexes.)

Reference search on Heb 12:1 note it picks up Hebrews 12:1 becaue it can now search in the background using the internal reference data.
You can search multiple references at once across all your books.

Thanks for this! But where's the link to the exe file for theWord 7? I did all the instruction here but didn't find TW 7 exe file. Am I missing something?

Yup. I think I mistakenly downloaded all the sneakpeak file instead of just downloading the latest Sneakpeak (28MB) in the repository!
I have it working now. Thanks!

We are in need of more testers theWord7 is more at a beta stage now. But since Github is such a good testing enviroment we are keeping testing there.

You must first agree to this:


twSneak-Peek(twalpha) version
twalpha/twsneak-peekis the alpha version of theWord where the new features are first added and become available for early testing. Please only discuss twalpha here in this github not in theWord forum. The forum is for theWord beta and beyond.

Installation recommendations

• Testing in a new compact install is recommended.

• To start off install theWord in compact installation using this file theword-setup-binary.exe.

• Always keep backups of theWord.

• Always read the "theWord twSneak-Peek" Version book inside theWord.(For example there are some versions that can reindex your entire library!)

• Download the latest "theWord twSneak-Peek" Updates inside Add Titles --> theWordLabs Repository

Issues/Bugs

• Before submitting any issues/bugs please read the changelogthoroughly.

• Any issues found should be filed in Issues and use the tag "bug" or put [BUG] in the topic.

• Please don't post anything regarding the sneak-peek version at theWord forums. We don't want to confuse users of the stable (beta) version.

• Please include the twalpha version: theword-6.0.0.1533.sp66

• twsneak-peekcan contain several new features at once, so it's important to mention the specific feature being tested, ideally as a tag: bible-sets

• Please included detailed steps to reproduce the bug and snapshots/picture. If you have Windows the Snipping Tool is easy to use to grab a small portion of the Screen. If you have Linux perhaps GNOME Screenshot or look here.

• Please include: Operating system: Windows 10, 11; Linux Version etc.

New Feature Requests

• Please no hen pecking, that is constantly asking for new features/changes. This could lead to removal from alpha testing.

• You may ask for features but do it throughly in Discussions and use the tag "enhancement" or put [ENHANCEMENT] in the topic.

• Note: Please focus on bugs instead of new features/changes.

• Presentation of a feature request or enhancement may make a lot of difference on if your request gets ignored. When presented as you must or you owe this then this may lead to that request being ignored.
