Part of button missing

Post by rdwray »

The is only a little bit of buttons showing at the bottom of "Preferences". This may be due to screen resolution.

Strange that we have only just got a report of this issue. I have noted it for Costas to fix.

Resize made no difference

The resolution is 1920 x 1080 but it is set at 125% because stuff is too small to read and that is also what HP recommends and even at these settings, theWord dialogs are pretty small.

Please try the latest beta 1522 where it should be fixed.

Hmm,
can you do a screen shot of where you set 125%

Also are you using a high dpi monitor?

Not sure what else could be different.

Yes on the high DPI screen, it is a laptop.

There are 2 places to set the 125%:
1) Settings > System > Display > Change size of text, apps and other items.
2) Settings > System > Display > Advanced scaling settings

I have both of these set to 125%.

High dpi is the difference.
Does changing these settings help fix it?

Sorry I don't have a high dpi screen to test.

I ran compatibility troubleshooter and in test mode it works, but as soon as I close the troubleshooter it fails. I have something that I have to do, I will do some more testing with high DPI and get back because that does look like the problem. Thanks JG and God bless.

Right click on theWord
Click "Properties"
Click "Compatibility"
Click "Run compatibility troubleshooter"
Click "Try recommended settings"
Click "Test the program"
After theWord opens, check to make sure the concerned item is fixed:
Click "Next"
If everything is working:
Click "Yes, save these settings for this program"

As a side note, when clicking Help > About, the version number in the bottom right corner is missing after 1500.
